Cities as Forces for Good Network

Big cities may reverse climate change

News · February 10th, 2011

Sarah Barmak, author for Corporate Knights Magazine, wrote about how can ‘Big cities may reverse climate change‘, and the more evident opportunities that cities have in comparison to rural live.  Although the synergy between rural and urban environments is not  apparent in the analysis, such as farming to supply food to cities, it is made clear that cities, as ‘entities’ with a distinctive metabolism, are central to the discussion of climate change. A large portion of her discussion is based on the recently released report by UN-Habitat: ‘State of the World’s Cities 2010/2011‘.
